What numbers tell us about open defecation | The Hindu

Media1 min read

This article compares the latrine use figures from the NSSO's Swachhta Status Report to r.i.c.e.'s SQUAT Survey, and reports on the progress of the first two years of the SBM. The SQUAT Survey finds much higher rates of open defecation among latrine owners than the NSSO Survey because the NSSO did not ask a balanced question of all members of the household.
