Toilets are urgently needed in rural India, but don’t imagine they’ll reduce rape

In this article, the r.i.c.e. team discusses the SQUAT survey’s findings about latrine use and gender. It argues that rather than focusing on the idea of building the latrines for women, the media and the government should promote the idea that latrine use is for everyone.
